BERLIN
A city that bears the scars of Europe’s most recent conflicts, Berlin is a fantastic place to learn more about the Second World War, the Cold War and their aftermath.
The fascinating Topography of Terror museum, located in the former headquarters of the Gestapo and SS, documents the repression and atrocities carried out during the Nazi regime. At Checkpoint Charlie, we get a glimpse of what life was like for Berliners before the fall of the Berlin Wall, which divided the city, and two opposing views of the world, until 1989.
