JWT Cruises named one of the best travel agents in Ireland

JWT Cruises, the Galway branch of JWT Travel, led by Caroline O’Toole, has been named as one of the best travel agents in the UK and Ireland.

The JWT Travel team in Galway, specializing in luxury and cruise holidays, earned one of 50 places in the TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies 2025: an annual power-list of the nation’s best agents by industry bible, Travel Trade Gazette.

The Top 50 judging process sees agencies thoroughly grilled around their customer service standards, their product expertise and training, their business innovation, and how they care for their team, the planet, and their local community.

Caroline O’Toole, head of JWT Cruises, says: “I am so incredibly proud of our small team in Galway. It is an extraordinary achievement to be recognized amongst the top travel agents in Ireland and the UK, particularly after only one year and a half in operation. I would also like to thank our fantastic clients for their support and for trusting us with their holiday plans.”

TTG editorial director Pippa Jacks said: “Now in its ninth year, our TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies programme sees us tour the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland to find those travel agents who have worked smartest, provided the best customer service, and done most to contribute to a fairer travel industry, in the last year.”

“With many of our finalists enjoying turnover growth and team expansion last year, it’s clear the travel agent is here to stay – and that holidaymakers are valuing the expertise and personalised care offered by agents, as well as their community spirit, more than ever before.”

The TTG Top 50 ceremony took place at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on Thursday 24 April, with more than 500 of the UK and Ireland’s top travel agents and supplier-partners in attendance. Find more about TTG’s Top 50 Travel Agencies initiative at ttgtop50.com and by searching #ttgtop50.

Despite having only launched the Galway branch of JWT Travel at the beginning of 2024, this team of three have made a big impression. Head of cruise sales and development Caroline has waited for the right premises to come along, with the decision to do so paying off – anyone now visiting the Salthill cruise specialist can enjoy an accompanying view of a bay where many cruise ships moor in the summer.

This attention to detail is all part and parcel of dealing with the team who made one family very happy by not only spotting their passports did not have the required six months validity for their just-booked trip, but then spent the weekend arranging emergency passport appointments to rectify the issue.

While this might be going the extra mile, all customers can expect a highly personal level of service with pre-booking of seats and tours, online check-ins, contacting clients on arrival in resort and regular rewards for repeat bookers all coming as standard.

The team are making their mark on Galway, having hosted the first JWT Cruises Show in the city in September which attracted more than 400 people, while they have also been supporting local charities and sports clubs with sponsorship where possible. They promote sustainable suppliers and have even taken to setting up supplier apps on customers’ phones as they target paperless travel, all in the space of a single year.

Congratulations to our fantastic Galway team for such an achievement!
