CRUISE ALASKA OR THE RIVER NILE
Top of our bucket list travel experiences for 2024 is Cruising Alaska and a Cruise on the Nile River in Egypt. They are two superb ‘once in a lifetime’ cruise holidays and ideal destinations for explorers at heart.

RIVER NILE AND EGYPT
The longest and possibly most famous river in the World, the Nile River flows across Egypt on its way to the Mediterranean.
It was on the banks of the Nile that the culture and civilization of Ancient Egypt developed and today is home to the most extraordinary archaeological sites and treasures of all times, including legendary temples and the Valley of the Kings.

WONDER AT THE NORTHERN LIGHTS IN ICELAND
The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena. These magnificent waves of colourful light can be seen in many Nordic countries in the winter months and Iceland is one of our favourite places to witness this extraordinary display.
The land of ice and fire not only enjoys the perfect location to catch the Northern Lights, it is also a fantastic destination to soak in its natural hot springs, another gift of Mother Nature and the country’s volcanic activity. The famous Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s finest.

WALK THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO
Pilgrims of all ages, nationalities and creeds have travelled the trails to Santiago de Compostela for many centuries, in search of forgiveness, solace, peace and sometimes just to find themselves.
The Camino de Santiago is a network of many trails and thousands of kms across Europe but most modern-day pilgrims walk the popular Camino Frances and Camino Portugues routes. However you don’t need to walk for weeks on end to tick the Camino off your bucket list travel experiences.
But let us tell you a secret: if you do the Camino, you will probably want to go back for more!
Walking the last stretch into Santiago de Compostela, generally the last 100kms, has become a popular practice, as it can be done in just a few days. This is the distance required for pilgrims to receive their Compostela certificate in Santiago.

TUNE INTO THE USA MUSIC CITIES
Nashville and Memphis are the USA’s most musical cities and pilgrimage destination for music fans who want to visit the place where music legends such as Elvis and Johny Cash lived and recorded their best tracks.
Known as “The Birthplace of Rock n Roll” Sun Studios in Memphis are also home to some of the all time greats of Blues, Soul and Country Music.
In Graceland, Elvis fans can get up close and personal visiting the King’s home;
While country music fans will be delighted in Nashville Tennessee, the place to catch a Country Music show on the General Jackson Showboat or at the legendary Grand Ole Opry.

BE MERRY IN GERMANY’S CHRISTMAS MARKETS
For those who love Christmas, a trip to Germany’s most traditional Christmas Markets is a magical holiday and should be top of their bucket list travel experiences.
As cities and towns across Germany switch on their charm and turn into a winter wonderland, the spirit of Christmas takes over and we are transported to a land of elves, gingerbread and carols.
Cologne is home to some of Germany’s prettiest and oldest Christmas Markets: Weihnachtsmarkt am Dom with the spectacular backdrop of Cologne Cathedral. Another favourite is ‘The House Elves’ Winter Fairytale Christmas Market, Heinzels WinterMarchen, dedicated to the house elves who take care of housework while we sleep, according to the locals!
