Itinerary

Sicily Escorted Tour for Solo Travellers Itinerary

Day 1 – Travel to Sicily

Arrive in Sicily, Italy. Meet our local representative and transfer to hotel in Giardini Naxos.

Day 2 – The Godfather Tour and Taormina

Morning: Visit Savoca and Forza D’Agrò, filming locations in Francis Ford Coppola’s trilogy, “The Godfather”.

Highlights in Savoca include the Church of San Michele, Catacombs of the Capuchin Convent, and Bar Vitelli, still a functioning establishment, and was featured in the motion picture as the place where Corleone asked Apollonia’s father to meet his daughter.

Continue to the village of Forza D’Agrò located on the lower peak of a small mountain, while on the higher peak that overlooks the town are the remains of Norman castle.

Afternoon: Explore Taormina, a picturesque hilltop town near Giardini Naxos with stunning panoramic views of the coast below. Wander its picturesque narrow streets and terraces, and enjoy a guided tour of the impressive Greek amphitheatre.

Day 3 – Day at leisure

Enjoy a free day of leisure and a chance to discover Sicily at your own pace. Ask your guide to recommend some places according to your tastes.

Day 4 – Syracuse and Noto

Prepare for a full-day guided sightseeing tour.

Explore Syracuse, whose historic heart is located on the island of Ortigia. Highlights include Arethusa Fountain, Cathedral, and the UNESCO archaeological area including the Greek Theatre, Latomie, and the spectacular Ear of Dionysius.

Then visit Noto, capital of the baroque and often called “Il Giardino di Pietra” (stone garden), and tour its recently restored cathedral.

Day 5 – Day at leisure

Enjoy another free day to spend at leisure in Sicily.

Your guide will be happy to make suggestions of places to see and things to do in the area.

Day 6 – Mount Etna and Wine tasting

Morning: Explore Mount Etna at 1,900m, enjoying panoramic coastal and countryside views. On your way back down, stop at a local winery for wine tasting paired with Sicilian cheese, salami, olives, and bruschetta.

Afternoon: Free time to relax by the sea or visit nearby Taormina for sightseeing and shopping.

Day 7 – Day at leisure

Free to explore on your final day.

Day 8 – Catania and Return Home

Depart Giardini Naxos and transfer to Catania.

Explore Catania on a guided tour, seeing its Baroque architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant city life, before heading to the airport for your flight home.
