From Château de La Roche-Guyon to striking Mont Saint Michely, Monet’s home in Giverny and the Normandy landing beaches of World War II, history is very much alive as we travel across Northern France.
Normandy’s medieval capital, Rouen is a city oozing culture and its beautiful historic quarter remains amazingly intact. Its cathedral inspired Monet and was home to many illustrious citizens from Richard the Lionheart to Joan of Arc, Gustave Flaubert, and of course Claude Monet are among them.
At the majestic Versailles Palace we will admire the lavish lifestyle of France’s Kings and Queens such as Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, until the Revolution made the country a Republic.
2024 marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings and is a very special time to visit the Normandy Beaches, a place that stirs profound emotions to all visitors. You will have a choice to venture to either the American, British and Commonwealth, or Canadian beaches; and partake in a touching private ceremony at the Omaha Beach Memorial, in remembrance of Operation Overlord.
In Paris, you have the choice to explore the city in one of three ways: taking a panoramic tour, a bicycle ride along the Seine, or a walk through the Latin Quarter with a local guide. You also have the option to book a couple of additional days in Paris before your embark.
There will be also plenty of opportunities to take part in active experiences, such as golfing atop the cliffs of Étretat, perched on the cliff high above the sea, making playing golf here a memorable experience and visual feast.
