DAY 1 – Duisburg

Welcome to Duisburg, once well known as a major location for the iron and steel industries like Dortmund and Bochum. Nowadays, the city is a scientific hub, home to high-tech companies and one of the world’s most important inland ports, being right on the Rhine.

DAY 2 – Amsterdam (Lelystad*)

Continue to Amsterdam, with its multicultural charm, relaxed atmosphere, historic canal district and the highest concentration of museums in the world. Visit the Van Gogh Museum or the Rijksmuseum. Follow the locals’ example and explore by bike or take a trip along the canals and discover Amsterdam from the water.

*In individual cases, the local authorities in Amsterdam may not confirm the reserved berths. If no berth is allocated, our guests will be provided with a shuttle bus to Amsterdam.

DAY 3 – Amsterdam, Rotterdam

Arrive in Rotterdam in the late afternoon.  Known as ‘Manhattan on the Maas’, it has a more urban and international atmosphere than anywhere else in the whole country. This city is a major transport hub, as well as home to Europe’s largest port and the fantastic skyline, featuring the the Erasmusbrug bridge. It’s no surprise that this is a centre of contemporary architecture, featuring the famoust Kijk-Kubus, and the Witte Huis, which was the first skyscraper in Europe.

DAY 4 – Rotterdam, Dordrecht

Enjoy the day in Rotterdam before heading to Dordrecht, in which you will arrive in the evening.

DAY 5 – Dordrecht

Spend the day in Dordrecht, where the three rivers Merwede, Noord and Oude Maas flow together, giving Dordrecht the flair of a city by the sea. Discover the city on the water, with its countless monuments and small city harbors.

DAY 6 – Nijmegen 

Proceed to Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands. Cross the Waalburg Arch Bridge and head to the city centre, where you’ll understand why its inhabitants are so proud of their city: the Waalkade wharf and the silhouette of the city-centre buildings combine to form a truly impressive sight. In this Hanseatic city, tradition and modernity go hand in hand.

DAY 7 –  Duisburg

Your exciting Rhine cruise ends in Duisburg, but your wonderful memories will last forever. Before you start your journey home, use the day to take a further look around the city.
