Southampton is the homeport here in the UK, and with its rich maritime heritage, there couldn’t be a better place for us to call home. Our ships are a familiar sight across the city, and with the cruise terminals right in the centre, it’s an easy place to start your holiday.

DAY 3 – La Coruna, Spain
A Coruña is a historic Atlantic port city known for its maritime heritage, charming medieval quarter, and elegant waterfront. Visit the iconic Tower of Hercules, the world’s oldest working lighthouse and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before exploring picturesque squares, Romanesque churches, and the bustling Praza de María Pita. Stroll along the scenic Paseo Marítimo, one of Europe’s longest seafront promenades, and enjoy the city’s renowned seafood, cafés, and vibrant Galician atmosphere.

Madeira is known as the “Garden Island” thanks to its lush subtropical landscapes, colourful flowers, and fragrant vegetation. Explore the island’s capital, Funchal, with its lively flower markets, botanical gardens, and scenic coastal views. Discover nearby highlights such as the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, famously painted by Winston Churchill, or visit traditional craft areas like Camacha. From scenic gardens and waterfalls to elegant hotels offering classic afternoon tea, Madeira offers a rich blend of natural beauty and relaxed island charm.
DAY 7 & 8 – At Sea
DAY 9 – Praia, Cape Verde
Explore the vibrant capital of Praia, where the historic Plateau district offers a glimpse into the city’s colonial past. Wander through colourful streets lined with markets and heritage buildings, including the neo-classical Presidential Palace and the impressive Nossa Senhora da Graça Cathedral. Discover local culture at the Ethnographic Museum of Praia before relaxing at the beautiful Quebra Canela Beach, known for its golden sands and laid-back atmosphere.
DAY 10 – St Vincent , Cape Verde
Mindelo, on the island of São Vicente, is widely regarded as the cultural heart of Cape Verde. This lively port city blends African, Portuguese, and Brazilian influences, reflected in its colourful colonial architecture, vibrant street art, and relaxed coastal atmosphere.
Music is central to daily life here, with traditional morna often filling the streets, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance that captures the spirit of Cape Verdean culture.
DAY 11 & 12 – At Sea
DAY 13 – Arrecife de Lanzarote, Spain
Make the most of your visit to Lanzarote by exploring its dramatic volcanic landscapes and unique natural attractions. Discover the surreal terrain of Timanfaya National Park, where lava fields and geothermal activity create a striking “moon-like” setting, with optional camel rides adding to the experience.
Continue to the wine region of La Geria to sample local volcanic wines, or head north to the lush valley of Haría, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Palms.” Enjoy panoramic views from Mirador del Río and visit the fascinating volcanic cave complex of Jameos del Agua, home to unique natural features and rare white crabs.
DAY 14 – Agadir, Morocco
Agadir is a vibrant coastal destination in Morocco known for its long sandy beaches, palm-lined promenade, and relaxed seaside atmosphere. It’s a popular spot for sun-seekers and water sports, with warm weather and beautiful Atlantic views year-round. Beyond the coastline, Agadir offers a taste of Moroccan culture through its bustling souks, where visitors can browse local handicrafts, spices, and street food, all set against a backdrop of friendly hospitality and scenic surroundings.
DAY 15 – Casablanca, Morocco
On a Discovery cruise to Casablanca, you can also visit nearby Tangier, where bustling souks and the winding streets of the Old Medina offer a vivid glimpse into Moroccan culture and daily life.
DAY 16 – At Sea
DAY 17 – Lisbon, Portugal
As your ship sails along the Tagus River toward Lisbon, you’ll pass key landmarks such as the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries. Lisbon is a compact but varied capital best explored through its main districts: Baixa, with its lively streets, shops, and cafés; Alfama, the atmospheric old quarter with narrow cobbled lanes and Moorish-influenced architecture; and Bairro Alto, known for its nightlife and steep historic streets, linked to Baixa by the famous Santa Justa Lift.
