Mediterranean Medley Cruise Itinerary
DAY 1 – Palma, Majorca
Arrive in Palma and spend the day wandering its mix of old and new. With its trademark cathedral dominating the skyline, cosmopolitan Palma never fails to impress. Walk the old town, visit Bellver Castle, and stop for tapas in tucked-away bars. If you’ve got time, head into the Tramuntana mountains to Valldemossa, a pretty stone village where Chopin once stayed. Finish with Palma’s cathedral, especially nice at sunset as the ship sails out.
DAY 2 – At Sea
Day 3 – Livorno (for Florence and Pisa), Italy
From Livorno you can head to Florence or Pisa. Florence is packed with Renaissance art and landmarks like Michelangelo’s David and the Uffizi Gallery, plus great shopping around the Ponte Vecchio. Pisa is all about the Leaning Tower and the beautiful square around it. Cruise along the royal canals of Livorno. Have your cameras ready as you sail through colourful ‘New Venice’, a labyrinth of canals, waterways and bridges.
DAY 4 – Villefranche (for Monaco), France
A stop on the French Riviera. Experience the glamour and glitz of France’s most famous stretch of coast. Visit Monaco’s Monte Carlo circuit, explore Nice or hilltop villages nearby, or relax on the beach. The whole area is all about sea views, yachts, and laid-back luxury.
DAY 5 – Toulon (for the Cote d’Azur), France
Fusing French Riviera glam with the feel of a traditional old town, Toulon is your gorgeous gateway to the Côte d’Azur. You can head to glamorous St-Tropez, cultural Aix-en-Provence, or explore small Provençal villages and countryside that inspired artists like Van Gogh and Cézanne.
DAY 6 – Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is one of the most famous cities in the world, and for good reason. Sandwiched between the Mediterranean Sea and the Serra de Collserola hills, this Spanish titan promises cutting-edge architecture, trend-setting fashion and art that breaks the mould. A lively city full of character. Walk Las Ramblas, explore the Gothic Quarter, and stop for tapas. See Gaudí’s architecture, or visit Camp Nou if you’re into football.
DAY 7 – Valencia, Spain
Discover Valencia, an expert in marrying up the old and futuristic. See the Gothic cathedral, framed by flying buttresses and intricately-carved arches. Wander historic streets, or check out the aquarium at the City of Arts and Sciences which is made up of space-age buildings and a 70-metre viewing tunnel, the longest in Europe. Residents include sharks, whales and dolphins.
DAY 8 – Palma, Majorca
Return to Palma for one last visit. Shop, stroll the old town, or take a final trip to Valldemossa before departure.
