From Southampton, we will cruise to Valencia, Spain, and the imposing Valencia Cathedral, continuing to Barcelona, a vibrant, commercial, and cultural city, home of the impressive Basilica “Sagrada Familia” of Gaudi.
In France, we will explore Toulon, homeport for the French navy’s nuclear-powered aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle.” The city provides an excellent gateway to the riches of Provence and the Cote d’Azur. To the north and west are medieval Provencal hilltop villages and superb vineyards.
From France, we will set sail to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, and Pisa in Italy, famous for its impressive Leaning Tower. We will also visit Rome, the Eternal City, and of course, Civitavecchia, which has served as Rome’s seaport since the 13th century. We will also visit Sardinia, the second largest island in the Mediterranean.
