Day 1 – Depart on Your Flights to Delhi – India
Time to set off on our trip to India! We board our flights to Delhi, ready to experience all the incredible sights ahead.
Day 2 – Welcome to Delhi – a City of History & Culture
On arrival in Delhi, we’re greeted by our local guide and the journey begins! Depending on our flight times, we’ll either start exploring right away or save it for the next day. Our half-day tour of Delhi takes us to some incredible sights. We begin with Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret, an awe-inspiring piece of history that has stood tall for centuries.
Day 3 – See More Of Delhi & Transfer to Jaipur
After breakfast, we dive into the sights and sounds of Old Delhi, starting with a fun cycle rickshaw ride through the lively streets. It’s a great way to soak up the city’s energy and see daily life in action. After our ride, we visit Raj Ghat, the peaceful memorial site of Mahatma Gandhi, where an eternal flame burns in his honour. We then pass by the impressive Jama Masjid Mosque (viewed from the outside) before stopping at the Bangla Sahib Sikh Temple, a place of worship known for its welcoming atmosphere. If time allows, we’ll explore the vibrant Chandni Chowk market, a fantastic spot to browse for souvenirs and local treasures. Next, we visit the fascinating Humayun’s Tomb, a beautiful 16th-century monument and the final resting place of Emperor Humayun. This stunning example of Mughal architecture is often seen as a precursor to the Taj Mahal.
Day 4 – Jaipur – Discover The Amber Fort & Village
Experience the rich history and breath-taking beauty of Jaipur on this full-day tour, a highlight of India’s famous Golden Triangle. We begin with a visit by jeep up to the magnificent Amber Fort, a stunning example of Rajput architecture, perched high on a hill overlooking the serene Maota Lake. After lunch (included), we continue our adventure with a walking tour of Amber village. This is a wonderful opportunity to soak up the local atmosphere and experience a more traditional side of Rajasthan.
Day 5 – Uncover Jaipur the Pink City & Cooking Demonstration
Step into Jaipur’s royal past with a morning tour of the City Palace Museum, once the grand seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Next, we visit the Jantar Mantar, an awe-inspiring astronomical observatory and home to the world’s largest stone sundial. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a masterpiece of precision and innovation. We then stop at one of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks, the Hawa Mahal, or ‘Palace of Winds’. With its striking pink façade and hundreds of small windows, this architectural marvel was designed to allow royal women to observe street life without being seen.
Day 6 – Discover Fatehpur Sikri – Transfer to Dholphur
This morning, we leave Jaipur behind and travel by coach to Dholpur, a journey of approximately seven hours (270km) with comfort stops along the way.En route, we visit the remarkable Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted red sandstone city that once served as the grand capital of the Mughal Empire. Built in 1569 by Emperor Akbar, this UNESCO-listed site was created in honour of Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti, who prophesied the birth of Akbar’s sons. On our guided tour, we uncover the fascinating history of this abandoned city, where magnificent palaces, courtyards, and mosques remain beautifully preserved. It’s a glimpse into the grandeur of the Mughal era and a truly unforgettable stop on our journey.
Day 7 – Uncover Gwalior Fort & Gujari Mahal Museum
Today, we set off on a half-day guided tour to the incredible Gwalior Fort, one of the most powerful and impregnable fortresses in central and northern India. With its towering sandstone walls and stunning hilltop views, this historic stronghold has witnessed centuries of battles and royal legacies. Next, we step into the fascinating world of Gujari Mahal Museum. Originally built as a palace by Raja Man Singh for his wife, Princess Mrignayani, this museum tells the story of a queen who knew exactly what she wanted—a palace of her own! Today, it houses an impressive collection of artifacts, offering a glimpse into the region’s royal past.
Day 8 – Transfer to Agra and Fall in Love With the Taj Mahal
This morning, we embark on a half-day excursion to the Gharial Conservation Alliance, a fascinating hatchery dedicated to protecting gharial crocodiles, crocodiles, and turtles. We’ll learn about the important conservation efforts and the role this site plays in preserving these endangered species. Next, we visit the Machkund Temple in Dholpur, a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus. Known for its spiritual importance, this peaceful temple offers a moment of reflection and connection to India’s rich religious heritage. In the evening, you will visit the world famous Taj Mahal.
Day 9 – Discover Agra and The Mighty Agra Fort
This morning, we delve deeper into Agra’s rich history with a guided tour of the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s finest Mughal forts. Built in the 16th century (not the 11th century), this impressive red sandstone fortress has witnessed countless historical events, including the Indian Rebellion of 1857. As we explore the fort’s grand halls, towers, and courtyards, we’ll take a moment to pause and enjoy the stunning views of the Taj Mahal in the distance, as well as the Yamuna River flowing beside the fort. It’s a peaceful and scenic spot, offering a unique perspective of one of India’s most iconic landmarks.
Day 10 – Depart Agra and Transfer By Coach To Delhi for Goa Flights
We depart Agra and make our way to Delhi for our flight to Goa. The transfer will take approximately five hours (230km) with comfort stops. We say goodbye to the rest of the group as we drop them to the hotel and then depart for Delhi airport for our internal flight to Goa.
Day 11 – Discover the Charm of Old Goa – Half Day
Let’s step back in time and explore Velha Goa (Old Goa), once the capital of Goa and a captivating glimpse into the region’s rich history. On our half-day guided excursion, we’ll discover the splendours of this ancient city, where Portuguese influence is still evident in the architecture and culture. We’ll visit two of the most famous churches in Goa, starting with the Basilica of Bom Jesus, home to the relics of St. Francis Xavier. We’ll also pass by the stunning Se Cathedral, one of the largest and oldest churches in India. Next, we head to Panaji, Goa’s vibrant capital, with its charming squares, lanes, and old quarters. Here, we’ll take a stroll through the Latin Quarter, lined with grand mansions, and make a stop at the Immaculate Conception Church, right in the heart of Panaji.
Day 12 – Relax More in Goa
Today, you have the freedom to explore Goa at our own leisure! If you’re looking to unwind, why not relax on one of Goa’s many beaches? Feel the soft sand beneath your feet and soak up the atmosphere. For those eager to discover more, Goa has so much to offer! From its ancient temples and churches to picturesque tea plantations and vibrant Portuguese architecture, there’s plenty to explore.
Day 13 – Enjoy Beach Day in Goa
Today is our last day at leisure, a wonderful opportunity to pick up those last-minute souvenirs or enjoy some shopping. Goa is famous for its aromatic spices, so be sure to grab a few to take home with you and make great gifts.
