Itinerary

CHRISTMAS ON THE DANUBE RIVER CRUISE

DAY 1 – BUDAPEST

You will fly to Budapest, and taken to your cruise ship on arrival.

DAY 2 – ESZTERGOM

Overnight we have cruised upstream to Esztergom, one of Hungary’s oldest towns, where you will enjoy a guided tour of the famous neoclassical basilica.

DAY 3 – BRATISLAVA

Begin the day with a fascinating guided tour of Slovakia’s beautifully restored city, Bratislava.

DAY 4 – MELK

You will visit to the remarkable Melk Abbey and its 214-yard-long Emperor’s Gallery lined with portraits.

DAY 5 – SALKZBURG OR LINZ

In Linz, you will have the choice to take a walking guided tour exploring the charming streets of the Baroque old town OR we drive to Salzburg, with its skyline, one of Europe’s largest stone fortresses and discover other main sights.

DAY 6 – VIENNA

Today’s visit to Vienna will be truly reminiscent of Christmas from a bygone age with tinkling lights and elegant decorated facades, we will see the main sights such as St Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg complex, former royal court.

DAY 7 – BUDAPEST

Enjoy a leisurely morning as we cruise majestically through Hungary’s peaceful pastoral frosted landscape towards Budapest. The afternoon is dedicated to a sightseeing tour of this captivating and festive city.

DAY 8 – Transfer to airport for flight home.

Prices are per person, based on two people sharing a twin cabin (lower deck)  with a limited number of sole occupancy cabins available on all decks, at the relevant supplement. The price includes:
