Itinerary

CARIBBEAN CRUISE FROM BARBADOS ITINERARY

FROM BRIDGETOWN TO BRIDGETOWN

DAY 1: Bridgetown, Barbados
Begin your Caribbean adventure in the vibrant capital of Barbados, Bridgetown. After boarding your luxurious Silversea cruise ship, take some time to settle into your suite and explore the ship’s amenities. Enjoy a welcome dinner on board and get ready for an exciting journey through the Caribbean.

DAY 2:Castries, St. Lucia
Dock in Castries, the capital of St. Lucia. Explore the bustling market and visit landmarks such as the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Derek Walcott Square. Take a tour to the island’s famous Pitons, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and visit the Sulphur Springs, the world’s only drive-in volcano. Enjoy the stunning beaches of Rodney Bay or Marigot Bay and participate in water activities such as snorkelling and sailing. Castries is this heavenly island’s capital, and while the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception may seem a little humble from the outside, the soft sounds of soulful hymns emanating from within are sure to draw you in. The astonishing interior glows with bright frescoes, lit up by the sunlight that spills inside, and atmospheric rows of flickering candles.

DAY 3: Fort-de-France, Martinique
Arrive in Fort-de-France, the lively capital of Martinique. Explore the city’s French Caribbean charm, with its beautiful architecture and vibrant markets. Visit the historic Fort Saint Louis, the colourful Schoelcher Library, and the lush Jardin de Balata. Take a tour of the island’s rum distilleries or relax on the stunning beaches of Les Salines and Anse Mitan.Martinique is also wonderful if your idea of exercise is turning over every 10 minutes to get an even tan and your taste in adventure runs to duty-free shopping. A popular cruise-ship excursion goes to St-Pierre, which was buried by ash when Mont Pelée erupted in 1902.

DAY 4: Gustavia, St.Barthemley
Cherry red roofs, yacht-sprinkled bays and a sophisticated French flavour all add to the gorgeous Caribbean allure of Gustavia. The island’s capital rolls around a horseshoe-shaped harbour, where gleaming yachts hover and fancy boutiques, bars and restaurants fizz with life and clinking cutlery. Head up to red and white Gustavia Lighthouse to look down over the revered waters, which attract many a celebrity guest and diving enthusiast to these shores. Christopher Columbus was the first European to discover this volcanic island in 1493, giving it the name St Barthelemy in honour of his younger brother. The fort now lies in ruins, but you’ll meet wandering iguanas, and the views down of sweeping sea and emerald coastline are some of the island’s finest. Down below, a delightful spread of tiny pebbles and shell fragments are scattered like confetti and lapped by crystal-clear water. A little exploration uncovers countless other glorious beaches and natural wonders. Colombier Beach is a little out of the way but cradles silky-smooth sands and typically turquoise waters.

DAY 5:Roseau, Dominica

Dive into extraordinary snorkelling and diving experiences, amongst thriving marine life, active corals and live volcanoes concealed below the waves. With attractive volcanic sands to relax on, and glorious, jungled mountains to explore, Roseau is an intoxicating welcome to Dominica’s Caribbean island appeal. Nestled on the west coast, Roseau is the island’s capital and a city surrounded by sprawling banana plantations, and cocoa fields. First taken by the French, then the British, a strong colonial imprint mingles with the local flare. Nowadays Old Market Square is crammed with locals trading huge vegetables, colourful fruits and handmade jewellery – but the square has a darker past, and was the centre of the island’s slave-trade.

DAY 6: St. George’s, Grenada
Dock in St. George’s, the picturesque capital of Grenada. Known as the “Spice Island,” Grenada offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Visit the bustling St. George’s Market Square, Fort George, and the Grenada National Museum. Explore the island’s famous spice plantations and waterfalls, such as Annandale Falls. Relax on Grand Anse Beach or take a snorkelling trip to the Underwater Sculpture Park. Dip into the waters of Bamboo Waterfall, or venture to Grand Etang, to explore the rich and fertile interior of this scenic island, where mischievous mona monkeys explore treetops and a collapsed volcano holds the waters of a glorious caldera lake.

DAY 7:Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Arrive at the charming island of Bequia. Enjoy a relaxing day at one of the beautiful beaches, such as Princess Margaret Beach or Lower Bay Beach. Discover the island’s maritime history at the Bequia Maritime Museum or take a boat tour to explore the nearby cays and marine life. The island’s tiny capital, Port Elizabeth, sits behind, with its bustling fruit and vegetable market, turtle sanctuary, and stalls selling hand-crafted model ships. This tiny, pretty island is ridged along the centre, and you can earn your beachside bliss with a gentle hike to the top of Mount Peggy, looking out over views of Grenada and St Vincent.

DAY 8:Bridgetown, Barbados
Return to Bridgetown, Barbados, and disembark after breakfast. Take some time to explore more of Barbados if your schedule allows. Visit the historic Garrison Savannah, Harrison’s Cave, or relax on one of the island’s beautiful beaches before heading to the airport for your journey home. Depart with wonderful memories of your Caribbean cruise adventure.
