Day 1 – Belgrade (Embark)
Transfer from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport to your ship. If you have arranged a Uniworld arrival transfer, you will be greeted by a Uniworld representative and transferred to the ship.
Day 2 – Belgrade
Belgrade, capital of Serbia, is one of Europe’s oldest cities, dating back some 7,000 years. Signs of its tumultuous history are visible everywhere, juxtaposed with the city’s vibrant modern-day present. Through the city, you’ll see a mix of architectural styles that reveal the city’s past, ranging from Gothic, Ottoman, baroque, and art nouveau to utilitarian Communist apartment blocks and modern high-rises.
A special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you this evening.
Day 3 – Novi Sad
In Novi Sad, known for its easygoing atmosphere and thriving urban arts scene, you can opt for a visit at local monastery led entirely by women, where you’ll see many works of art, and a traditional Serbian establishment known as a Salas; or you can choose to visit a wonderful winery run by a local family that aims to reinvent the Serbian wine industry and then explore the peaceful Hopovo Monastery, a stunning 16th-century Serbian Orthodox monastery nestled in the Fruška Gora National Park.
Day 4- Batina, Ilok
Noted for its beautiful countryside and thriving folk traditions, in Batina you’ll either visit the Vučedol Culture Museum and have a traditional meal in a locals family’s home before embarking on a sightseeing tour of Osijek with a local guide, or explore Croatia’s Syrmia region, drive to a local farm, where you’ll indulge in an authentic lunch of regional specialties, all produced on-site, and explore the city of Vukovar, with stops at the iconic Vukovar Water Tower, the historic Eltz Manor, and the city center.
Day 5 – Budapest
In Budapest you’ll explore the dynamic reality of both Buda and Pest. Here you can opt for a panoramic tour, which gives you a perfect overview of the city, that will carry you from Heroes’ Square to some of the city’s most striking architectural sight, such as Dohány Street Synagogue, the Hungarian National Museum, St. Stephen’s Basilica and the stunning Parliament Building. Another option is the visit to Andrassy Avenue, which was lined with palatial Neo-Renaissance buildings and accented with plentiful trees, now filled with boutiques and restaurants, all interspersed with historic buildings in a stunning blend of old and new.
Day 6 – Bratislava
Despite its air of mystery and intrigue, Bratislava is full of surprises. Explore St. Martin’s Cathedral, where 18 royal coronations were held, or hike to Bratislava’s castle and visit the Presidential Palace, UFO Bridge, the historic Old Town, where you’ll see the pastel tower of the Old Town Hall and statues like Čumil, the sewage worker leaning out of a manhole in the street to smile at passersby.
Day 7 – Vienna
Vienna is the heart of the political and cultural centre of Austria, a city where you’ll enjoy its major landmarks, such as Parliament, City Hall, the Vienna State Opera, glorious palaces, and museums, or decide to visit Mythos Mozart, a multimedia experience that transforms Mozart’s compositions into an immersive piece of art.
Take a private evening tour of select exhibits in the Belvedere Palace, including the world’s largest collection of works by Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.
In the evening, a special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you.
Day 8 – Vienna (Disembark), Transfer to Hotel
Transfer from the ship to a five-star hotel in Vienna for the final two nights of your journey. Later today, you’ll enjoy a tasting of Austrian wines at the Klosterneuburg abbey winery, located just outside of Vienna, and admire the abbey’s Baroque church and medieval cloister.
Day 9 – Vienna
Start your day with a tour of the opulent Schönbrunn Palace, one of the grandest examples of Baroque architecture in all of Europe, decorated with golden stucco, rich velvet, and stunning frescoes. After, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore the city at your leisure.
Day 10 – Depart Vienna
Check out of your hotel this morning. If you have arranged a Uniworld departure transfer, you will be transferred to Vienna International Airport for your flight home.
