Canadian Rockies & Alaskan Cruise Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in Calgary
Begin your journey to Calgary. Stay at Delta by Mariott in Downtown Calgary.
Day 2 – Calgary
Start with a guided tour of Calgary, then travel across Alberta’s rolling prairie landscapes. As the journey continues, the dramatic snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies come into view.
Arrive in Banff, check into hotel for three-night stay, and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3 – Banff
Travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway, renowned for its stunning mountain scenery. Stop at the iconic Lake Louise, surrounded by towering peaks, and admire the vivid blue waters of Peyto Lake.
Continue to the vast Columbia Icefield. where. weather permitting, you will ride a Snocoach onto the Athabasca Glacier for a close-up view of this remarkable glacier before returning to Banff.
Day 4 – Banff Free Day
Enjoy a free day in Banff to explore at your own pace. Options include a scenic float on the Bow River, a relaxing soak in the local hot springs, a helicopter sightseeing flight, or a ride on the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views and walking trails. You may also choose to enjoy afternoon tea at the historic Fairmont Baff Springs.
Day 5 – Rocky Mountaineer Train
Board the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer for the first day of an unforgettable rail journey through the Canadian Rockies. Travel through dramatic mountain passes, deep valleys, and across impressive bridges, enjoying panoramic views from your seat.
Highlights include the Kicking Horse Pass, the Continental Divide, the historic Spiral Tunnels, and the crossing of Stoney Creek Bridge. Relax with onboard commentary, comfortable seating, and included meals as the train winds through the spectacular landscapes of Alberta and British Columbia.
Day 6 – Vancouver
Continue aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, travelling through some of British Columbia’s most spectacular scenery. Follow the Fraser Canyon and Thompson River, passing landmarks such as Jaws of Death Gorge, Avalanche Alley, and Hell’s Gate.
Arrive in Vancouver in the afternoon, completing one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys. Stay overnight at Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel.
Day 7 – Vancouver
Discover the highlights of Vancouver on a guided city tour. Visit the beautiful Stanley Park, known for its totem poles, and stop at Prospect Point for excellent views of the city and harbour.
Enjoy the free afternoon to explore at your own pace, with opportunities to stroll along the waterfront, enjoy the scenic seawall around Stanley Park, or relax at English Bay Beach.
Day 8 – Embark Koningsdam
Board the MS Koningsdam and begin your seven- night Inside Passage cruise. After embarkation in Vancouver, settle into your cabin and enjoy the ship’s facilities before departure.
In the evening, sail out of the harbour and pass beneath the iconic Lions Gate Bridge, marking the start of your Alaskan adventure.
Day 9 – At Sea
Spend your first full day aboard the MS Koningsdam cruising through the scenic Inside Passage. Enjoy a relaxed day at sea taking in the coastal scenery or joining onboard talks and activities as you settle into ship life.
In the evening, take part in the cruise’s first formal night onboard.
Day 10 – Juneau
Continue cruising aboard the MS Koningsdam into the dramatic Tracy Arm Fjord, with the option to view the twin Sawyer Glaciers surrounded by steep granite cliffs and drifting icebergs, often home to harbour seals.
After lunch, arrive in Juneau, the state capital, where a range of excursions is available including glacier helicopter flights, whale watching, kayaking, hiking, and traditional Alaskan experiences.
Day 11 – Skagway
Arrive early in Skagway, a historic town born from the Klondike Gold Rush, and spend the day exploring at leisure. Choose from a range of excursions, including scenic helicopter flights over glaciers or a memorable journey on the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway, which winds through dramatic Alaskan wilderness.
Skagway offers a striking sense of remoteness, with vast untouched landscapes, quiet forests, and abundant wildlife, making it one of the most atmospheric stops on your cruise.
Day 12 – Glacier Bay
Spend the day cruising through the spectacular Glacier Bay National Park, a protected wilderness of towering peaks, deep fjords, and active tidewater glaciers. Watch as the Fairweather Range surrounds the ship, with chances to see wildlife such as humpback whales, seals, and coastal bears.
With no port stop, enjoy uninterrupted views of this vast marine park, while National Park rangers come onboard to share insights about the glaciers, geology, and wildlife of this extraordinary environment.
Day 13 – Ketchikan
Enjoy a relaxed morning cruising aboard the MS Koningsdam before arriving in Ketchikan after lunch. Known as the “Salmon Capital of the World,” Ketchikan offers a wide range of excursions, including seaplane flights over the dramatic Misty Fjords National Monument and visits into the remote Tongass National Forest, where widlife such as bears may be seen.
Other options include salmon fishing, kayaking, a crab feast, or an adrenaline-filled zip-line experience through the forest canopy.
Day 14 – At Sea
Spend the last full day at sea, sailing back through the scenic Inside Passage. Our last full day is spent at sea returning through the Inside Passage.
Day 15 – Return Home
Arrive back in Vancouver in the morning before saying goodbye and starting the journey home. Disembark the ship, then head to Granville Island, a vibrant shipping district known for its indoor market.
You will have time to browse the shops and enjoy lunch at your leisure before transferring to the airport.
Day 16 – Arrive Home
Return home, with some wonderful memories.
