The group will explore Munich city centre on foot, getting familiar with its history and main sights including Marienplatz square, which is the wonderful setting of the city’s most traditional Christmas market in December.

One of the mornings will be spent brushing up on language skills with a German teacher students and they will also get to visit two of Munich’s top museums: Deutsches Museum and BMW World.

One of the first and best Science and Technology museums in the world, the Deutsches Museum’s main focus is active learning. Future scientists will get immersed in interactive exhibitions, fascinating experiments and other fun-filled scientific activities to spark their creativity.

To learn more about the history of the region, we have also included a visit to the Nymphenburg Palace and Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial.

At the 17th century Nymphenburg Palace they will admire the luxurious Summer residence of the Bavarian royals; and one of the finest gardens in Germany at the palace’s park.

In Dachau students will learn about Nazi Germany, World War II and the Holocaust, some of the darkest chapters of European modern history. Opened in the 1930s, the Dachau concentration camp and ‘school of terror’ served as a template for other concentration camps during the war.

Over 200,000 people were imprisoned here before the camp was liberated by Allied troops in 1945, at the end of World War II.

MUNICH SCHOOL TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1 – EXPLORING MUNICH

On the first day of your school trip to Munich, the group will fly to the city and will be picked up at the airport for a private transfer to their accommodation.

In the afternoon, they will enjoy guided walking tour of Munich city centre, getting familiar with its history and main sights including the beautiful Marienplatz square, which hosts the city’s most traditional Christmas market in December.

Alternatively, you can opt for a 2-hour scavenger hunt adapted to the age of the students.

DAY 2 – DEUTSCHES MUSEUM

Today, the students will spend the day at the fascinating Deutsches Museum, one of the first and best Science and Technology museums in the world.

Focusing on active learning, the Deutsches Museum will spark the students’ interest in Science as they get immersed in interactive exhibitions, experiments and other fun-filled scientific activities for children of all ages.

DAY 3 – GERMAN CLASS AND BMW WORLD

This morning, the group will take part in a 4-hour German class and brush up on their language skills with a German teacher.

In the afternoon, they will tour BMW World, a new adventure museum and gallery of impressive architecture.

DAY 4 – NYMPHENBURG PALACE AND DACHAU MEMORIAL

Today the group will travel to the Nymphenburg Palace and Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial before travelling back to the airport for their flight home.

Built in the 17th century, Nymphenburg Palace was the Summer residence of the Bavarian royals; and its park is one of the finest examples of garden design and art in Germany.

A guided tour of Dachau will introduce students to the history of the Holocaust and some of the darkest chapters of modern history. Opened in the 1930s by the Nazis, Dachau concentration camp served as a model for other concentration camps.

Over 200,000 people were imprisoned here during World War II until the camp was liberated by Allied troops in 1945.
