BRUSSELS SCHOOL TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1 – GRAND PLACE AND EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

Today, the group will take a morning flight to Brussels.

We will start off this Brussels School Trip with a visit to La Grand-Place, the magnificent central square in Brussels, as well as the European Parliament.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Brussels’ La Grand Place is one of Europe’s most beautiful squares. Having been destroyed by the French army in 1695, the square was rebuilt with its striking Gothic and Baroque style in less than five years.

The Town Hall is the only medieval building remaining in Grand Place and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. The east wing is the oldest part of the Town Hall and was completed in 1420.

After admiring Grand Place and its beautiful architecture, the group will then visit the European Parliament, where students can attend parliamentary sessions or meet members of the European Parliament.

DAY 2 – MINI EUROPE AND ROYAL PALACE

Today the students will visit Mini Europe and the Royal Palace of Brussels.

Mini Europe is a great park with miniature replicas of some of 350 iconic monuments across the European Union from the Eiffel Tower to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral and even the Berlin Wall.

The Royal Palace of Brussels is the official palace of the King and Queen of Belgium although not the royal residence.

DAY 3 – PLACE DU GRAND SABLON AND CHOCO STORY

Today is about enjoyment and chocolate, as the students will spend the morning at the bustling Place du Grand Sablon followed by a visit to Choco Story Brussels, to learn all about the tradition of Belgian chocolate making.

Place du Grand Sablon is one of the most lively squares in Brussels, as well as a beautiful space surrounded by old mansion houses. At Grand Sablon and surrounding streets you will find some of the best places to eat, great restaurants and cafes; as well as antiques and chocolate shops.

On the weekends the square hosts a popular antiques and book market.

Chocolate fans will be delighted with a visit to Choco Story Brussels, to learn about the origins of cocoa beans, how they arrived in Europe and Brussels, as well as how they are transformed into chocolate.

A chocolate tasting of the famous Belgian praline with a master chocolatier is one of the highlights of this tasty and unmissable tour.
