BEST OF JAPAN SCHOOL TRIP ITINERARY
DAY 1 – FLIGHT TO OSAKA
Today you will travel to Osaka, in Japan.
DAY 2 – OSAKA
The group will enjoy a guided tour of Osaka today, including visits to Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum, Osaka Castle Park, the lively Dotonbori district with its neon lights, Osaka Museum of History, Ninja Experience at Ninja Do and Ukiyoe Printing Experience. The Ninja Experience at Ninja Do gives students a unique and immersive insight into the mysterious and fascinating world of the ninja, ancient Japan’s secret agents.
DAY 3 – OSAKA TO HIROSHIMA
The group will take the Shinkansen bullet train from Shin Osaka to Hiroshima. A local guide will meet the group at the station to pick them up and take them on a guided tour and the hotel. This day tour of Hiroshima includes visits to Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, 400-year old Shukkeien Garden and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, built in the city centre near the epicentre of the atomic bomb in 1945.
DAY 4 – HIROSHIMA TO KYOTO
Today the group will travel from Hiroshima to Kyoto by Bullet Train. Kyoto was Japan’s cultural centre, home to Emperors and the country’s capital for a thousand years. It remains one of the most wonderful cities to visit in Japan, dotted with countless temples, shrines and palaces, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
DAY 5 – KYOTO
Today the group will enjoy a private guided tour on private transport of Kyoto, visiting its most iconic landmarks: Pure Water Temple, the famous Nishiki food market, Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Gion District known for its geishas, Nijo Castle and also enjoying a Kimono wearing experience. Nijo Castle is one of the seven Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto which have been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site
DAY 6 – KYOTO AND NARA
From Kyoto the group will travel to Nara for a full day guided visit, including Matcha-making Experience, Todaiji Temple, Nara Park and Fushimi Inari Shrine.
DAY 7 – KYOTO
The group will continue exploring Kyoto’s wonderful heritage today, enjoying the following activities and visits with a private guide: Geisha (Maiko) Tea Ceremony and Show, Tenryuji Temple, Arashiyama, Nonomiya Shrine, Togetsu-kyo Bridge and Bamboo Grove.
DAY 8 – KYOTO TO TOKYO
Today you will leave Kyoto behind and take the bullet train to the dazzling capital: Tokyo. You will be collected at Tokyo train station by an English speaking guide and transferred to your hotel.
DAY 9 – TOKYO
Our local guide will meet the group and take them on a guided tour of the city, visiting some of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks including the following visits and activities: Kokyo Gaien National Garden, Meiji Jingu Shrine, Omotesando, Sumo Show and Experience (with Sumo Lunch) and The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.
DAY 10 – TOKYO
Today the group will continue exploring Japan’s lively capital, visiting Tokyo Skytree, Sensoji Asakusa, Tsukiji fish market, Akihabara and enjoying Sushi-making Experience with lunch included. Tokyo’s oldest temple, Sensoji contains a sacred statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy.
Towering above the capital’s skyline, Tokyo Skytree soars 634 meters high and gives incredible, panoramic views of Tokyo. On a clear day, you can see Mt. Fuji.
DAY 11 – TOKYO BACK HOME
After breakfast it is time to say ‘sayonara’, goodbye to Japan. The group will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
