BEST OF CHINA SCHOOL TRIP ITINERARY
DAY 1 – FLIGHT TO CHINA
DAY 2 – BEIJING AND HUTONG TOUR WITH LOCAL FAMILY
Arrival in Beijing, meet and greet and transfer to your hotel where you will be staying for the next three nights.
In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the Hutong area by rickshaw and visit to a local family.
DAY 3 – TOUR OF BEIJING
Today the students will enjoy a full day tour of Beijing, visiting its most iconic sites including the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace followed by lunch. In the evening you will taste a traditional Hot Pot Dinner.
DAY 4 – GREAT WALL AND THE MING TOMBS
Full day tour of a section of the impressive Great Wall of China, one of the wonders of the world; and the Ming Tombs mausoleum built by the emperors of the Ming Dynasty following the principles of Fengshui. In the evening you will enjoy a Peking Duck dinner at a local restaurant before attending a magnificent Peking Opera show, combining singing, dance, acrobatics and mime.
DAY 5 – TRAVEL TO XIAN
Today, the group will check out of the hotel in Beijing and get a private transfer to the train station to catch a bullet train to Xian, a journey of approximately 6 hours.
DAY 6 – TERRACOTTA WARRIORS AND BANPO MUSEUM
After breakfast, the students will get to experience a full day tour of the Terracotta Warriors and Banpo Museum. The fascinating Terracotta Army was only discovered in the 20th century, one of the century’s most spectacular archaeological finds. The army of over 8000 warriors, with chariots and horses, took 40 years to build and over 700,000 labourers. It was built for China’s first emperor Qin Shi Huang who believed objects such as statues would come alive in the afterlife and wanted to secure an army as powerful as the one he had on Earth.
DAY 7 – TOUR OF XIAN
Today, the students will enjoy a full day tour of Xian including the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi Museum, City Wall and Great Mosque with a break for lunch. In the evening, they will experience a Tang Dynasty Dinner Show, a great performance of ancient music and dance; and a must-see in Xian.
DAY 8 – TRAVEL TO GUILIN
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Meet and greet at the airport where you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel, where you will be staying for the next three nights.
After checking in and some time to relax, the group will take a tour of Fubo Hill, Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Cave with a break for lunch.
DAY 9 – RIVER CRUISE TO YANGSHUO
The students will sail from Guilin to Yangshuo on a scenic Li River Cruise enjoying lunch onboard and the region’s stunning landscapes. Upon arrival, they will tour the streets of Yangshuo. In the evening they will attend a Impression Liusanjie show and travel back to Guilin after the show.
DAY 10 – LONGSHENG AND LONGJI VILLAGE
Full day tour exploring Longsheng and visiting its rice terraces; and Longji Village with a break for lunch.
DAY 11 – TRAVEL TO SHANGHAI
Transfer to airport for flight to Shanghai. Meet and greet and transfer to your hotel where you will be staying for two nights. Later on, you will take a tour of Bund and Yu Garden with a break for lunch. In the evening, the group will enjoy Shanghainese dinner followed by an EAR Acrobatic show.
DAY 12 – SHANGHAI
Today the group will take a full day tour of Shanghai, including the Shanghai Museum, French Concession and the Zhujiajiao Watertown.
DAY 13 – RETURN FLIGHT
Transfer to airport for departure flight.
