A sightseeing tour of Florence, Firenze in Italian, will introduce students to the architecture, history and culture of this extraordinary city, one of the first UNESCO World Heritage sites in Italy and without a doubt one of the most visited.
Exploring Florence, students will immerse themselves in centuries of art: from the iconic Duomo Cathedral which took nearly 150 years to complete to the craft shops of Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery, home to the world’s greatest collection of Renaissance artwork, including Botticelli’s ‘The Birth of Venus’.
They will also travel across the picturesque Tuscan countryside to visit the pretty hilltop town of San Miniato, renown for its white truffles. The students will also have a day to explore the walled city of Lucca with its pretty cobbled streets and visit the famous ‘leaning’ tower of Pisa and its cathedral.
